Scène nationale de l’Essonne, Agora – Desnos – 2018

Commissioned by the Scène nationale de l’Essonne, Agora – Desnos to energize theatre-building during a dry season on the stage.

Where do artists come into the picture? What is the nature of the journey from the dressing room to the stage? Who are Marie and Fabrice? Bet and Jordi, artists who no longer need to be introduced, are the new guides this season. With their sympathy, their humour and their generosity, they guide you through the labyrinths of the theatre, and though they have promised not to lose anyone along the way, knowing them we will have to wait for some surprising revelations.

It was an order on carte blanche; the only condition was that it must be a meal.

We at Escarlata, in dramaturgy and on stage, together with the sonic universe of Pep Pascual and Freecandó on the stove, distilled a dinner with its roots in the products of Catalan gastronomy. We tasted music and poetry accompanied by the best meals and drinks. A good feast!

After Devoris Causa at the opening of Fenêtre sur la Catalogne, Bet and Jordi couldn’t resist wanting to end this festivalin style. For several weeks, they had been working with Pep Pascual on this party, which they kept secret until the last moment. In love with the circus and its unique universes, they create shows that mix humour and fantasy. What we can tell you about this evening is that music, surprised laughter and Catalan cuisine make up the programme me. What could be more joyful than to start this year, 2016, together?

A gastro-poetic-circus proposal. Games with stones, galena radio, sculptural pieces by CorroC, petris poems, gastronomic menu 100% inspired by stones.
We discovered that stones can be very digestible and tasty!

Seasonal opening show of the Scène nationale de l’Essonne, Agora – Desnos – 2013

Conception and direction: Sergi López and escarlata

A tour of the bowels of the theatre, joined by the spectators.
Dressing rooms filled with opera singers, aisles with bread stick percussionists, or bellboys walking around in donkey costumes, theatre reciters and some clowns.
All this so that you, as a spectator, end up on stage to be applauded and greeted like a star.

An invitation to step onto the stage and share this welcome and presentation of the season with a little feast.

CIRCUS NIGHTS AT THE TEATRE GREC

Conception and artistic direction

Under the artistic direction of the Greek festival, we designed a tour of the gardens of the Greek Theatre of Montjuic in which attendees experienced short circus performances, with the possibility of seeing the whole.
Finally, on the big stage, a great circus production closed the event.
A programme adapted to all kinds of audiences; varied, and with many flavours, so that though it ran consecutively for two years, a different event each time.
