The company

Escarlata is a company that transforms energy into actions, social relationships and artistic encounters.

Art is a foundation for all human beings; basic, necessary, and enriching. We like to awaken the creative, transforming cells and detoxify them from the complex toxicity of the capitalist system.

Our engines are curiosity, poetry and the pursuit of beauty.

All this is reflected in the creations that you have been able to enjoy or which you are yet to discover.

We are currently moving from an exhibition space to a space for relationships and participation where we are all protagonists, or not. A space where we can offer workshops, trainings, unique experiences and creative labyrinths; where everyone is invited to play from the same starting point, and each of the participants can find their place comfortably, choosing if they want to play and how they want to do it.

These are the foundations of the new trajectory of Escarlata, a new game based on the active participationof the attendees where current issues and human commitment are discussed and reflected on. We develop prompts, giving clues to the participants within the experiences we propose. We create material from an idea, a common ground for us all.

History

July 17, 1987. In the village of Montseny was born “Circus, Wonders and Varieties”

Our history to date has been a rounded, square, triangular spiral of stroboscopic and eccentric dimensions; released for the sake of transforming into aliens, perhaps, or any other curious species.

The whole path we take is a foundation on which we have woven our methodology, often guided by instinct and serendipity.

“National Culture Award” by the Generalitat de Catalunya – 2007

“To Jordi Aspa and Bet Miralta.” Trapezi, for his contribution to dignifying the circus in Catalonia, for the desire for cultural decentralization, for the creation of new audiences, and for having made Trapezi a European Circus reference”.
The jury also remembered the instigators of the Trapezi in Reus and Vilanova, Alfred Fort and Bienve Moya.

We wanted to dedicate the first constellation of the circus to one of the most genuine and international companies in our circus: to do a retrospective and at the same time present a new show.

How the city laughs

Escarlata is the guest artist of the 2020/21 season at the TAG in Granollers.
We propose the performance of WHEN CRABS WEAR HEELS and the co-production of the C.A.M.E.S Transverse Network, spontaneous and sensory auditory comedies in movement.
In addition to proposing to work with the public under the umbrella of laughter, we will have workshops with a group of elderly people and single-parent mothers and another with a group of learners from the Arsenic creation space. All this will take place during the 2020/21 season. Stay tuned!!!
